Growing = Becoming More Like Jesus

2 Corinthians 13:11 “Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.”

If we spend time with Jesus we will become more like Him. Everyone will see the difference in how we love people more and live in peace even with difficult people.

you.

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder

Tonight’s youth event, “The Apprentice”. Click here for details.  Remember to wear “business causal” clothing to Youth tonight – You will be trying to convince Donald Trump to hire you… haha, this is gonna be great fun!

Short Devotional

God’s mercies are new for you again, today! He keeps giving us all a 2nd chance, and a 3rd, and a 4th

“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed (utterly destroyed), because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:21-22.

God’s is merciful, but He also chastens (trains, disciplines) us…for our good.

“Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”

Hebrews 12:11 Are you receiving His training?

Small Groups & the Apprentice

Hey Gang, I’m excited for the remaining Youth events here in May

 - May 11th – Small Groups (tonight), call your leader for details.

 - May 18th - The Apprentice, click here for details.

And hey, a quick thought from our devotions today; “I was glad when they said to me, “let us go into the house of the LORD”. (Psalm 112:2). That’s so true about Youth Group! It’s great when a friend says, “I’m excited to worship Jesus”.

Be that friend!

love ya’ll, PC

Youth Tonight

Hey! I’m excited for Youth Tonight…Outdoor Games, Word, Afterglow, Cafe!

Check out this awesome picture…

Psalm 119:114, “You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.”

Psalm 119 – Try Reading This Psalm Prayerfully!

We are taking a break from Jeremiah to spend a week in Psalm 119. Today is v1-24 and WOW it’s powerful!

TIP: HOW TO READ PSALM 119 PRAYERFULLY

Ever found this Psalm a little challenging? Here is a cool approach; Do more than read it; PRAY it! Stop after each and every verse and respond to God in your heart with a short prayer. For instance, ask Him to make that verse real in your life or offer Him praise for the promise that verse contains. This will take the truth of this amazing Psalm into your heart and change you from the inside out!

For instance…

1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law of the LORD!
2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the whole heart!
(Psalm 119:1-2)

v1 “Lord, I see how happiness comes from obeying your Word. Please give me a fresh desire to obey and find happiness in You”!  v2 “And Lord, I want to seek You with all my heart.  Here is my heart, Lord. I trust You with my concerns and seek You above all other things. I don’t want to be lazy. Speak to me as I seek You with all my heart in my quiet time here today…”  …and so on!

Jeremiah 17 – When God Looks Into Your Life, What Does He See?

When God looks deep into your life…what does He see?

“I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10

God knows who you really are. He knows your leaps of faith, but also your struggles. He knows when you make honest efforts to seek good or to choose evil in those times of weakness. He knows your heart and tests your mind, daily. He does this because He loves us and wants to reward those who seek Him and follow through on His commands! Yet when we choose evil, He also gives us what we deserve.

What does God see in you? He’s longing to reward your faith!!

You Were Meant For Amazing Things! Jeremiah 1

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

It’s so encouraging to read about God’s call to Jeremiah. God knows us in the womb! His plans and callings were determined for you before you were born! God is in control. Choose to see everything in life as His preparation. He is preparing you for the work He has already prepared for you. He uses frustrations to mould you, and prepares you for amazing things!

You were meant for…amazing things!
